Will AI Take Developer Jobs?
5 min readJun 14, 2025
No, but it may change everything.
The 1:1
Me: “How’s work?”
Alex: “Good, but dude… I’ve been reading about AI agents and all that stuff. What if they just replace us?”
Me: “Look, everyone’s asking ‘Will AI take my job?’ But that’s the wrong question. The real question is: ‘How do I work WITH this thing to get better at what I do?’”
Speed and Memory Don’t Matter Anymore
- Don’t try to code faster than AI. AI can write lines of code way quicker than any human ever could.
- Stop trying to remember every framework. Who cares if you know 50 different JavaScript frameworks? AI learns new ones in seconds.
- Quick and dirty, without asking why. AI can patch stuff very fast, but if you don’t know why and blindly take the ‘patch’, it may break again.
- Copy and paste to feel a sense of achievement. Don’t waste time, let AI do it.
- Stop googling the basic stuff. When’s the last time you actually searched for an answer on Stack Overflow?
- Stop learning random languages for fun. Unless you have a real project, building another “Hello World” won’t save your job.
- Stop memorizing commands. AI remembers every bash command and regex pattern. You don’t need to.
You can’t beat AI at what it’s good at.
