So let me try to help them, bro.

A Very Special Interview Experience

“Today, I had a very special interview experience,” my friend X said. “I felt the two interviewers were a bit aggressive, and in the end, I threw back the same questions they asked me to them. And guess what? They couldn’t give me an answer!” My friend was laughing.

“Oh really, how can that happen? Usually, when interviewers ask you questions, they have the answers in mind; otherwise, they would talk about something they know well,” I said, surprised.

Let me tell you what happened

“So, I walked into the office, and after 5 minutes, two guys came in. ‘Could you please introduce yourself?’ one of them started the interview while scanning my CV,” X said.

“I quickly introduced myself. I told them my name, mentioned that I’m working at a startup with just five people, and that I’m the lead of my two-person team,” my friend X said, who has 3+ years of experience as a software lead engineer, full stack.

“Then one of the interviewers asked, ‘How many people are in your team?’”

“I said, ‘Two, just me and my colleague,’” X said.

“Maybe they think a small team lead is less valuable than a big team lead; that’s why they wanted to know the size,” I said.
