Disclaimer

Not all places are like this, from a developer’s perspective, we always look at the worse cases.

Don’t get me wrong.

This post is not to ask you to step back. No, I only want to use some real stories which could be in front of your career, make sure you are aware of these can happen.

Lack of respect

ZERO.

To technical

This could happen to technical companies too.

  • The process is a complete mass, lack of documentation and no test at all
  • Only one branch in source code control, everyone directly pushes to master and deploys to production without going through staging (they may not even know there is such a thing).
  • Rushing is the only big thing you are seeing every day.
  • They have no idea what technical debt is and also won’t allocate any time for that.
  • Of course, they don’t understand what does refactor means.

To stakeholders, as long as no bug fixes or new feature adding in, all changes are wasting time.

All they want is to see something working, and your code can make it work, QUICKLY.
